www.CSTACTICAL.com - The new Leupold M5 1 MIL turrets on the Mark IV 6-20x50mm.
Do the customized CDS turrets from Leupold work at any magnification?
Since the VX3 scopes are Second Focal Plane (SFP) scopes, the Boone and Crockett reticle only works at the highest magnification of the scope. But if you have the customized CDS turrets do they work at any magnification?
You have so mixed your apples and oranges.
The two cross hairs are used in conjunction with the zoom to identify the distance. The target turrets are then adjusted to compensate for the distance.
Mr.357
Range finding reticles depend upon the magnification unless they are front focal plane. Turrets and the adjustment of the reticle do not depend upon magnification.

My 24x vs 36x target test post demonstrates this. Not the case, the higher power is just making your movement more apparent or it "magnifies" your movement. It comes down to what I call "perceived movement" vs. 'actual movement". I have tried training with 36x and then for the big event, I shoot 24x so it fools me My hold was not ready for 36x Not sure it will ever be ready. It is the same thing with a high power scope. We've all looked through a high power telescope I assume and we recall just walking on the floor can cause the image to "move" or vibrate. The high magnification will show you this movement when it would otherwise go unnoticed. Pick up a 15x scope and you will feel like you have a fairly solid hold....
Now, me being Me, CherkyB, I bought a really nice scope for the rifle - a Leupold Vari-X III of some sort - and I had dutifully gone to the range to zero it in and learn how to shoot a rifle. This went alright until the night before the hunt, when my buddy's dad tried out my rifle and said, "Your scope is out of focus.

42% Off Discounts: Buy Cheap Leupold Zero Point Boresighter 59012 Review
Leupold Zero Point Boresighter 59012 Review What an amazing little device. You have to get the angle just right and then you look through your scope and see the etched target that Leupold miniturized for you. I recently purchased a Remington 700PSS and a Leupold Mk 4 6. Thus the attraction to a boresighter. Adjust your crosshairs to match theirs and you are on the paper. The trip to the range the next day confirmed I was 8 inches off at 100 yards. Where this is not a miracle, it is more than acceptable in my book for getting me where I need to be. Two adjustments 308 rounds are around $1 a piece and I don't have that many opportunities to go to a distance range for sighting....

Two Great Combat Optics
The US Army had already moved to a non magnifying optic with the Aimpoint CompM2, later replaced by the Aimpoint CompM4S. The M150 rifle combat optic is the US Army adaptation of the US Marine Corps AN/PVQ-31B (civilian model TA31RCO-M4CP). Both the red chevron aiming mark and the 1-300 meter stadia are dual illuminated by fiber-optics and a tritium lamp. It has horizontal bars that are the width of a silhoutte target at each range and horizontal bars at 0. The US Army did not go the same route as the USMC in issuing rifle and carbine specific versions, instead opting for one version for the M4, M16A2, M16A4 and M249 with long and short barrels. To mount on an M16A2 carry handle you remove the sight from its TA51 twin thumbscrew mount. The US Army was slow in adopting a magnifying sight as standard on their rifles. The US Army have the M150 delivered with an AGF1-ARD combined laser filter and anti reflection device....
