“Out & About” art exhibit by Kevin Friesen

Steinbach Arts Council is proud to present the exhibit “Out & About” by photographer Kevin Friesen from November 9 to January 6 at the Hall Gallery in the Steinbach Cultural Arts Centre. Years later he purchased his first digital, a Pentax point and shoot, and more recently, a Nikon D50. Shortly after graduating from High School, in 1981, he bought his first camera, a Pentax K1000, and began to learn more about the art of painting with light. While enjoying photography since his early teens, he only became really interested when taking a grade 12 photography class with Jim Peters. Kevin’s favourite time to shoot is early morning or late evening. Kevin was born and raised in Steinbach, MB. He has been married to Julie for 28 years.

LBCC: 25 Years of Iconic Tim Bradstreet Illustration

" said Bradstreet as the audience cracked up. Explaining that moderator and actor Thomas Jane would join them in a bit, Bradstreet told the audience he was glad to do the panel and to see interest in illustration and his art. Starting at the very beginning of his interest in art, Bradstreet said he first became obsessed with drawing as a kid, drawing in the backseat of the family car with his brother. Comic Book artist Tim Bradstreet began his panel at Long Beach Comic Con by looking around the full room and laughing. " laughed Bradstreet as the audience cracked up again. I started out in role playing games and worked my way up," Bradstreet said. " Bradstreet joked. He then plugged his book, "Archetype" which was a twenty-year artist retrospective on his work. Exactly at that moment an audience member's ring tone, which was the sound of crickets chirping, went off.
